NFL Mock Draft 5.0: Could Saquon Barkley fall to the Redskins at No. 13?
By Ian Cummings
The Tennessee Titans don’t have a pressing need on the defensive line, but when a game-changing defensive lineman like Vita Vea drops this far in the NFL Draft, the ‘best player available’ philosophy makes a whole lot of sense.
Vea, 6-foot-5, 330, has a very impressive combination of size and athleticism. He moves gracefully, but packs a punch like thunder. Consistency is an issue for Vea. His flashes are bright, but sometimes they seldom appear, and in the NFL, he will have to work on his polish. Newly-anointed head coach Mike Vrabel should be able to help him with such a task.
Ultimately, the Titans could opt to address a position of greater need here, but by adding Vea to the front seven, they would immediately improve the unit. The pairing of Jurrell Casey and Vita Vea would have the potential to be a devastating combination.
