NFL Mock Draft 5.0: Could Saquon Barkley fall to the Redskins at No. 13?
By Ian Cummings
After dealing with Aaron Donald for four years, the Seattle Seahawks, with the No. 18 pick in the NFL Draft, decide to find their own Aaron Donald.
To say Maurice Hurst is the next Aaron Donald would be a stretch. The Michigan product is far less refined, and he isn’t as burly, but he was consistent at the college level, displaying an impressive burst of the line at the point of the snap. He’s able to use his quick twitch to gain early leverage on opposing offensive linemen, and he has the strength to win those one-on-one battles.
Hurst fits the Seahawks’ 4-3 scheme as a three-technique defensive lineman, and with the Seahawks failing to get compensation from Malik McDowell, due to a serious injury suffered by the former second-round pick in the offseason of 2017, adding another defensive tackle through the NFL Draft might be necessary. Hurst fits the team well, and he could start right away.
