Redskins: 3 nose tackles to target on the free agent market in 2018
The Redskins had interest in Bennie Logan last offseason. At the time, he was preparing to depart the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency. This year, he’s coming off a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Redskins are still interested in Logan. He has been a successful run stopper and he may have some inside information about weaknesses on the Eagles squad. Granted, Beau Allen may have more knowledge at this point, but the point is still that Logan is a solid player who might know how to beat up on a guy like Jason Kelce.
I reported on the news of the Redskins interest in Logan in a recent article. At the time, this is what I said about him.

"Logan, who is coming off a decent season with the Chiefs, [could] serve as a functional starter. Logan isn’t the strongest tackle on the open market, as he isn’t much of a pass rusher, but the two down presence he could offer would be a major upgrade for the Redskins in the middle of their defense. Logan could play in base packages and in obvious run situations, but he could make way for other players in pass rushing situations. They could rotate a different player in for pass rushing sets, and that could end up being the aforementioned [Ziggy] Hood. So, Logan would be a good fit with the team."
It would be nice to see Logan land in Washington. He’s simply a solid player who shouldn’t be too expensive to keep. He will probably fetch about $6 million per season on the market and that’s an affordable option for the team. If they go after someone in free agency, Logan makes a lot of sense, as he would be a plug-and-play starter.
