It’s never too early to start thinking about the NFL Draft, and today, the Washington Redskins gathered more information to think about.

In the slow times of the year, when only a few teams are left in the race for the Super Bowl, other teams take advantage of the time they have and focus on scouting future NFL players. Players who could end up suiting up with the team’s colors one day.

The Washington Redskins took a step toward organizing their draft board today, and they also took an opportunity to get a closer look at three draft prospects at the Shrine Game practices. Reports from Trevor Sikkema inform us that the Washington Redskins met with NC State defensive lineman Kentavius Street, Florida State linebacker Matthew Thomas, and William and Mary offensive lineman Connor Hilland.

Street, 6-foot-2, 287, was a four-year player for the NC State Wolfpack. Over his career, he totaled  8.0 sacks, 19.0 tackles for loss, and 120 total tackles, as well as two forced fumbles. He was surrounded by an extremely talented defensive cast over his career, and his numbers may have caused him to be overlooked as a result. Street is one to keep watching at the East-West Shrine Game, as are Thomas and Hilland.

Street, in particular, has impressed early in the Shrine Game festivities. He moves well for his size, and without first round talent around him, he shines among the competition. Other notable players who have impressed include Central Michigan defensive lineman Joe Ostman, Michigan State center Brian Allen and Tennessee tight end Ethan Wolf.
