3. Giants quarterbacks combine for less than 100 passing yards

This actually was a prediction I had last time these two squads faced off. It nearly came true, as Eli Manning only totaled 113 passing yards, but some came during garbage time. In this matchup, it seems possible that the Redskins could have similar success on Sunday.

As I pointed out last time around, Manning and the Giants are missing a lot of receiving weapons. Here’s a look at my exact words from the Thanksgiving Day storyline.

"Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, and Dwayne Harris are all out for the season after suffering various injuries. Sterling Shepard has filled in nicely as a No. 1 guy, but he missed last week with an illness and is questionable for this week too. Without those four, Evan Engram is the only reliable pass catcher on the offense. Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland should easily be able to shut down the rest."

This time around, it should be even easier for the Redskins corners to shut down their opposition. Engram and Shepard are scheduled to miss the final contest due to injuries. Additionally, Tavares King was placed on IR with a concussion, so he will be out. That means the team’s top receiving options will be Roger Lewis and tight end Rhett Ellison. That doesn’t inspire hope in many.

With the already sorry state of the Giants offensive line and quarterback position, it just doesn’t seem like they will do much with a depleted receiving corps. Unless Davis Webb enters the game and puts up some solid numbers, expect the Redskins to hold the Giants to less than 100 passing yards in the Big Apple this weekend.
