The Redskins have some interesting candidates hitting free agency at the outside linebacker position. They have some familiar ones there as well.

The Washington Redskins outside linebackers have performed fairly well in 2017. Despite being without one of their top producers from the 2016 campaign, the other players at the position across from Ryan Kerrigan have held their own. Now, one of them is hitting free agency while the top producer from 2016 is also hitting the market.

While the Redskins defense has been far from perfect this year, it wouldn’t be fair to blame the rush linebackers. They played as well as they could and were terrific to start the year. Injuries to the interior defensive line ended up limiting their effectiveness as opposing coordinators could focus more of the blocking attention out on the edge. That’s why the second half of the season hasn’t been as easy for the sack artists.

With that said, the Redskins are coming close to having to make a big decision about which players they want to keep moving forward. Here’s a look at the three rush linebackers hitting the market and what their likely fates will be.
