No. 3 – Josh Norman records his first interception of the season

At long last.

It has to happens sooner or later. Josh Norman is still Josh Norman. He’s still making plays, covering opposing receivers like glue. He had a couple bad games recently, but who doesn’t from time to time? As solid as Norman has been, however, he hasn’t yet been able to notch that first interception of 2017. While players around him, like Kendall Fuller and D.J. Swearinger, have been churning in turnovers every week, Norman has failed to catch a break.

Now, Norman will be the first to tell you that as long as the secondary is turning over the football, he doesn’t care who’s making the interception. But nevertheless, it’s almost alarming to see the Pro Bowl cornerback without an interception after eleven weeks of the regular season. Luckily for him, and for fans speculating on the arrival of his inevitable decline, Norman will get an interception on Thursday.

It’s not hard to see why. The Cowboys’ offense is on life support without Ezekiel Elliot. The offense line is hurting, and Dak Prescott has struggled to adjust when he needs to. He hasn’t stopped targeting his No. 1 receiver, Dez Bryant. The former All-Pro wideout has averaged nine targets a game in the past three games. But that doesn’t mean success is around the corner. It means Josh Norman will find a way to get out of this rut.

Norman had Bryant’s number the last time these two played, back in October. He held the Cowboys’ top receiver to 39 yards on four receptions. Tonight, look for Norman to build on his strong performance, and look for him to lock down Dez now that the Cowboys’ offense is one-dimensional. Norman has to get a pick sooner or later. And if he plays his cards right, he could pull it off tomorrow night.
