No. 4 – Bruce Allen has a change of heart, likes color rush jerseys

The Redskins have been able to avoid the polarizing (in terms of both light and disposition) color rush uniforms since their inception in 2016. Last year, they played a Thursday night game only on Thanksgiving, and therefore, they were able to sidestep the rule change. But now, they’re caught in the headlights, and it seems as though they’ll comply, and wear a variation of the uniforms, whether it be the original gold-on-gold, or burgundy-on-burgundy. Burgundy is the likely route, but it’s not officially confirmed yet.

I’m partial to the burgundy-on-burgundy. It’s something I, and many other fans, have wanted to see for a long time. But it doesn’t matter. Because Bruce Allen, a staunch upholder of NFL tradition, is against it all. I’m not going to lie. Some color rush uniforms are downright ugly. But it’s one game of the year. Come on. Lighten up a little bit. Pun intended.

This bold prediction strays from the field, and takes us up to the luxury booth. Bruce Allen will be forced to have his team wear color rush uniforms. And when he settles down in the booth and looks down upon the field, under the lights of the dome, he’ll realize that the colorful combos aren’t actually that bad. In fact, they’re kind of slick. In their own, “baseball game nacho cheese” kind of way. And the NFL will find less resistance from the Redskins in the future. I guarantee it.
