The Washington Redskins improved to 5-6 with a victory over the New York Giants. The Thanksgiving Day win was a huge win for the team.

On Thursday night, the Washington Redskins certainly gave their fans something to be thankful for. Though their offense struggled for a good portion of the night, the team was able to pull out a hard fought win against a divisional rival to stay alive in the Wild Card race. With the 20-10 victory, the Redskins have now tied Dallas for second in the division leading into their critical battle next Thursday night.

For a majority of the game, the Redskins defense dominated the Giants anemic offense. After blowing a lead to New Orleans last week, the unit seemed ready to step up their game when it counted. They only allowed the Giants to score a field goal, as the lone touchdown came off a pick six. Their performance was stellar and definitely deserves praise.

Additionally, the Redskins won the time of possession battle by nearly 10 minutes and had significant advantages in field position for the whole night. Tress Way helped pin the Giants inside their own 20 numerous times during the evening and deserves praise for putting the Giants offense in bad positions.

Overall, this was a big win for the Redskins and one that they sorely needed after a tough stretch. Hopefully, this will spark them on one of their hot streaks moving forward. Right now, we’ll take a look at every aspect of the game and how the team was able to win. It’s time for the Redskins Breakdown.
