The Washington Redskins have the privilege of hosting a Thanksgiving game this year. They are taking on the New York Giants as they look to get back to their winning ways.

There’s no better holiday than Thanksgiving. There’s food, friends, family, and football. And the day only gets better when the Washington Redskins are in action.

For the second straight year, the Redskins are playing on Thanksgiving. Last year, they lost to the Cowboys in an exciting shootout that saw Kirk Cousins and Jordan Reed dismantle the Cowboys defense. But Dak Prescott and company were able to outscore the Redskins en route to a loss.

This year, the atmosphere will be different. The Redskins are hosting a Thanksgiving contest for the first time in the storied history of their team. Playing in the Thursday night slate, they will take on the New York Giants in hopes of improving to 5-6 on the season.

The Giants an odd opponent for the team. In recent weeks, it looked like the team had quit on head coach Ben McAdoo. But they are coming off their second win of the year and looked more inspired than they had been in the previous month. Perhaps they will be ready to take on a divisional rival and try to prove that they are better than people think they are.

With all that said, here’s a look at an in-depth preview of the game, featuring a deep dive into the Redskins matchups with the Giants offense and defense.
