1. Avoid turning the ball over on offense

Realistically, the only way that the Redskins are going to have a chance to beat the Seahawks is if they avoid turning the ball over. Seattle is very good at forcing turnovers, but given the injuries Washington has on both sides of the ball, the team cannot afford to make too many errors.

Washington’s defense is very banged up right now. The front seven is a shell of what it once was, thanks to injuries to Mason Foster, Jonathan Allen, and Matt Ioannidis. With those three key contributors out, the Seahawks will be able to move the ball at will. The team will have to find a defensive stop or two to help keep the team afloat, but a win can only come from the offense in this contest.

In order to emerge victorious, the Redskins can’t afford to make any critical mistakes. They can take a sack or a dropped pass, but if they turn the ball over, they are going to have a very tough time surviving. Kirk Cousins has to make smart decisions when throwing the ball and his offensive weapons have to make sure that they have sure hands in this game. Even one turnover could prove to be critical to the Skins chances of winning.

At the end of the day, the Redskins need to win the turnover battle. Ideally, they won’t commit one themselves. For them to have a shot at winning, they need to take advantage of every offensive possession. Losing one could prove to be costly.
