3. Seahawks sack Kirk Cousins at least 5 times

The Redskins are going to have a very tough time fielding a competitive offensive line for the second straight week. Heading into Sunday’s game, they already have a number of players ruled out. Center Spencer Long, guard Shawn Lauvao, and reserve tackle Ty Nsekhe are all confirmed to be out, and Trent Williams is doubtful as well. This could spell trouble for the Redskins.

In addition to the four linemen who are already out, Brandon Scherff is questionable for the contest. Scherff has seen the field in practice each of the last two days, but it remains to be seen if he will be at 100 percent. He seems likely to play, but he may not be as effective as he normally is.

So, with that said, the Redskins are going to have a tough time blocking for Kirk Cousins. The left side of the line is going to be comprised of the hyper raw T.J. Clemmings, undrafted rookie Tyler Catalina, and rookie center Chase Roullier. The unit has upside, but they are not going to be ready to take on the Seahawks stout front.

The Seahawks possess one of the league’s most fearsome defensive fronts. Michael Bennett and Sheldon Richardson are two of the league’s best pass rushers while third year man Frank Clark is in the midst of a solid season of his own. Against backup linemen, this trio should dominate and get a lot of pressure on Cousins.

Because the Redskins project to be behind for most of this game, it seems likely that Cousins will be forced to throw the ball a lot. Given the weakness of the offensive line, it’s probably that he will be under duress and will take more sacks than usual as he tries to get his team back into the game. As a result, the Seahawks should be able to rack up at least five sacks as they look to beat Washington in Week 9.
