5. Cleveland Browns

Nobody wants to got to Cleveland right now, but the fact is that they are in desperate need of a quarterback. Heading into 2018, the Browns will be armed with the sixth most cap space in the league. They addressed their offensive line last offseason, so the next logical step would be adding a competent quarterback to play behind it.

Right now, the best quarterback on the Browns’ roster is DeShone Kizer. That is an absolute nightmare. They have been looking for a quarterback for the better part of two decades, and it is a long running joke that they can’t find anyone to man the position. Cousins would be a clear upgrade for them.

Adding Cousins would give the Browns a quarterback with a strong arm and solid accuracy. He would stabilize the position and allow the team to focus on upgrading the rest of their roster. If Cousins was patient enough, the rebuild could take a year or two and then the Browns could have a chance to make the playoffs.

Still, it’s hard to imagine that Cousins will want to go to Cleveland. They are simply not a good team, and they would have to pay a premium for his services. The Browns would probably be better off selecting one of the first round quarterback prospects in the draft, like Sam Darnold or Lamar Jackson.
