The Redskins have another tough test ahead today, this time at home against the Dallas Cowboys.

The matchup has heavy implications on the NFC wild card race, and with a loss, the Redskins would be another step behind. With a win, however, they’d not only keep themselves in the thick of the playoff race, but they’d also have renewed confidence, finding a win without several key players.

Did we mention almost half the team is injured yet? That may be a bit of an overstatement, but the Redskins are certainly hurting. Four of their five starting offensive linemen are injured, and three of them have been ruled out for Sunday already.

The starting lineup now looks to be T.J. Clemmings at left tackle, Shawn Lauvao at left guard, Chase Roullier at center, Arie Kouandjio at right guard, and Orlando Franklin at right tackle, if Morgan Moses is unable to go.

It’s fair to worry about the offense’s ability to function properly without three of their best blockers on the offensive line. Kirk Cousins has done a lot on his own this season, but he needs time to throw, his receivers need time to get open, and Robert Kelley will need blocks to go his way. The offensive line is the most important part of the offense. And if they’re not healthy, then production will not be as smooth or plentiful.
