The Washington Redskins are preparing to play their second preseason contest of the 2017 season. They will take on the Green Bay Packers, and are hoping it will be less painful than their first game.

In the first week of the preseason, there was a lot of hope for the Washington Redskins. They were coming into the season with a revamped roster and a lot of new players, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. The game against the Baltimore Ravens was going to be the first chance many had to see of the new players, and there was excitement in the air as the day approached.

However, the performance could not have been worse for the Redskins. Though their defense held up strong early, their offense struggled to get going for a majority of the evening. They ended up falling by a final score of 23-3, and it was a certainly a drubbing in every sense of the word.

Now, in the second week of the preseason, the Redskins will get a chance to redeem themselves. They will be taking on a tough opponent in the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are a perennial playoff powerhouse under Mike McCarthy, and though it’s the preseason, the team will be looking to get some of their young talent battle tested.

The second preseason game usually sees an uptick in action for the starters as well. So the Redskins will get a chance to have a slightly longer look at Kirk Cousins, while their defense may get to look at Aaron Rodgers for a series or two.

With all of that said, here is a look at an in-depth preview for how the Redskins will fare in the second unofficial contest of the 2017 NFL season.
