Rashad Ross was released by the Washington Redskins late in the 2016 NFL season. He found a new home on Tuesday with the Buffalo Bills.

Once again, former Washington Redskins receiver Rashad Ross is on the move. After being released by the Redskins in December of 2016, Ross has struggled to find a place in the league. Midway through the NFL playoffs, Ross inked a reserve/future contract with the San Francisco 49ers. That reunited him with former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

However, things apparently did not work out well for Ross there. He was released by the team on the first day of June. There was just no way he was going to beat out some of the younger players for a spot on the team, given the volume of players the 49ers have at the receiver and return man positions. That left Ross without a job once again.

But on Tuesday, Ross was able to leverage a solid workout with the Buffalo Bills into a new contract. According to Chris Brown of the Buffalo Bills official website, Ross signed with the Bills after the team waived former sixth round pick Kolby Listenbee. This could be the best spot for Ross to land because of the lack of talent the Bills have at receiver.

Though the Bills have a talented No. 1 wide-out in Sammy Watkins, the team does not have much in addition to him. They added receiver Zay Jones in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he should be a solid player. However, he has dealt with an injury at the start of his career, and that could stunt his progress. Aside from that, the Bills have a lot of potential depth guys who will battle it out for a spot on the team.

For Ross, the key to making the roster will be challenging Brandon Tate and Walt Powell in the return game. Both Tate and Powell have similar skill sets to Ross, returning kicks is their strength while their abilities as receivers are merely solid. The fact is that each player can function as a No. 4 or 5 receiver, so the Bills will have a decision to make about which to keep.

While Ross is not guaranteed a job in Buffalo, there is no doubt that he is in a better place now. Neither San Francisco or Washington was the proper fit for him. This will likely be his final chance to make an impression, and he should have at least a chance to do that in Buffalo.
