Kirk Cousins, Washington Redskins teammates praise receiver Terrelle Pryor
Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins appear to be happy with the performance of their newest receiver, Terrelle Pryor.
In the 2017 offseason, the Washington Redskins had a lot of turnover at the wide receiver position. Their top two receivers, DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon, were set to hit the free agent market. While many thought that the team would elect to re-sign one of the two, they let them both walk. Jackson went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while Garcon signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Just like that, the Redskins lost 2,000 yards of offensive production.

However, the team did not waste much time as they looked to add a new receiver. Terrelle Pryor, a former quarterback who was coming off a career year as a wide-out with the Cleveland Browns, signed a one year deal with the team early in free agency. Pryor was considered to be raw, but he was coming off a 1,000 yard season of his own. And at 6-foot-4, he offered height, a weapon that the Redskins needed to gain a competitive advantage in the red zone.
Early on, it looks like Pryor is earning the respect of his peers as a member of the Redskins. Namely, quarterback Kirk Cousins has praised the new addition to his receiving corps. According to Brian Tinsman of CBS DC, Cousins said the following of Pryor’s performance in offseason workouts.

"“I like it because I’ve never had a conversation with a receiver like I’ve had with him where he said, ‘Yeah, it was two-invert, so I took it to the post. It was quarters on the backside,’” Cousins said. “He really can see it and he’s going to hold me accountable, so you take the good with the bad. I love it.”“He’s an enthusiastic guy. He’s always wanting to run another route. ‘Let’s try it again, let’s do it again,’ just a positive attitude and he’s been a joy to work with thus far.“I’m really looking forward to trying to get him as many touches as possible and allow him to impact our team in any way he can.”"
Pryor is definitely going to get a lot of touches. The Redskins need to replace 135 receptions within their offense, and a big chunk of those figure to belong to Pryor. So long as he can stay healthy and develop a strong rapport with Cousins, he will be a strong member of the receiving corps.

Overall, this is great news for the Redskins. Their newest addition appears to be working out very well. If he, Josh Doctson, and Jamison Crowder can lock down the top three spots in the receiving corps, then the Redskins should be in good shape as they look to rework part of their offense.
