Josh Norman is continuing to exchange barbs with his opponents in the NFC East. This time, he went Dez Bryant in addition to constant target Odell Beckham Jr.

When the Washington Redskins elected to sign Josh Norman in free agency prior to the 2016 NFL season, the team knew they were getting a colorful character. Norman is a top notch trash talker off the field, who loves to poke and prod players across the league to try and get a reaction out of them. We have seen this before in the past, notably his 2015 game against Odell Beckham Jr. as a member of the Carolina Panthers.

Unsurprisingly, Norman recently went after some of his rivals again. In an interview with Bleacher Report’s Tyler Dunne, Norman went after a couple of his NFC East counterparts, the aforementioned Beckham and Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. What Norman said was certainly entertaining, and it could stoke the competitive fire of the three competitors when they meet in 2017.

On Bryant, Norman said that he was “just a guy.” When Dunne asked him to elaborate, Norman said the following.

More from Riggo's Rag

"[Dez Bryant] doesn’t “wow” you. For me, he don’t. For other guys, he probably will do the worst to them because he’ll bully them. But you can’t bully a bully. You know what I’m saying? That’s why his game doesn’t resonate to me."

There is no doubt that Norman is a bully on the field. He is absolutely a physical corner who fights hard on every play. At the same time, Bryant does have a bit of bully in him, but he is more than just a jump ball type guy. He has good speed and is a decent route runner, which is what made him into such a strong receiver. So Norman had better be able to contain him in 2017.

In 2016, Bryant logged 12 catches for 184 yards in two games against the Redskins. He was covered by Norman for about 75 percent of those contests.

On Beckham, Norman once again challenged the toughness of his opponent. He said the following of the New York Giants star.

"[Odell Beckham Jr.] tries to be a tough guy. He tries to put on this persona which he’s not. Because he’s always going to have his head on a swivel. Always. Always when we play each other. He’s scary like that. He does things that he normally wouldn’t do because of all the pressure and added hype that he has to put on his whole persona. He’s not this guy."

This argument does make a lot of sense. Beckham does seem to go after Norman and try to be tougher than normal when he takes on his now divisional rival. It was intriguing that Norman called him scary, as Beckham may view that as a complement.

Still, the fact that Norman pointed out Beckham’s persona could cause the young receiver to play with an even bigger edge the next time these two face off. Norman will have to be ready to give Beckham everything he’s got when they face off a couple of times in 2017.

Overall, this is another instance of Norman speaking his mind. That is the type of guy that Norman is, and he will never stop going after guys as long as he is in the league. For all of his lack of trash talk on the field, as he claims that he avoids in the Dunne interview, he certainly does like to talk off the field.
