Summertime is a time to cherish. But for Washington Redskins faithful, the summer Sundays always feel somewhat empty.

The offseason has a tendency to drag on until its bitter end. And although there are happenings throughout, it’s very much like geologic time: abrupt events surrounded by long periods of quiet. Withdrawal rarely struggles to find its way into the hearts of fans everywhere.

Luckily for you, however, there are things to do while waiting for football to kick back up again. Ways to stay involved while enjoying the other things in life as well. The most exciting parts of the offseason may be over, but there are still some things to consider as we await the 2017 NFL season.

Be glad you’re not a Bears’ fan. The Redskins have had their share of embarrassment over the past couple decades, but Chicago raised the bar on draft night. The Bears, already devoid of talent, gave up three draft picks just to move up one spot and pick up a quarterback that the team above them wasn’t even going to get. And this came after the Bears already signed an average quarterback, Mike Glennon, to a 3-year, $45 million contract. Meanwhile, the Redskins nabbed Jonathan Allen, a top five prospect, at pick No. 17. Whenever you’re frustrated with Washington, just remember, the Bears fans have it far worse. Be grateful.

Take a trip down memory lane. There have been some good moments for the Redskins this decade. Whether it’s the “You Like That” comeback against the Buccaneers, or the NFC East clincher against the Eagles in 2015, there’s been a lot to like. So if you have spare time, don’t hesitate to sit down and browse the glory days. There’s no games this time of year. So it’s a perfect opportunity to look back at the good moments and have hope for the future! Although try not to get your hopes up too high. It’s the Redskins.
