According to reports, former Cleveland Browns Wide Reciever Terrelle Pryor has signed a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins.

Terrelle Pryor had reportedly left Redskins Park without any deal made, according to numerous sources. However, Adam Schefter just tweeted that isn’t the case:

Did he turn the car around?  CBS Sports reported earlier that even though he left with no contract he would “his options available”.  He kept to his word, signing  a one-year, $8 million contract, according to Schefter on Twitter.  Pryor spent three seasons with the Oakland Raiders (2011-13) before moving on to the Cleveland Browns. He spent two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, and pulled in  77 catches for 1,077 yards with four touchdowns last season.  The 2016 was his most active season of his career, so coming to the Redskins will be a change in how he’s been used over his career.

Pryor comes to the Redskins in the wake of the exit of both Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. Both men were 1,000-yard receivers last season, so supplementing that position with someone like Pryor makes sense. More than likely, the Redskins will keep Terrelle Pryor to the right side of the field where he is apparently most comfortable.  In addition, Pryor may fill that “deep threat” goal the Redskins fell short on with Jackson.

The deal has the look and feel of former general manager Scot McCloughan’s “prove it” contracts. Needless to say, his effect on the organization will not leave any time soon.
