1. New York Giants – Eli Apple, CB

Let me start out by saying that I like Eli Apple.  I think he’s a talented young cornerback and should turn into a good player for the Giants.  He has good size and excellent speed at the cornerback positions.  However, I think this pick was a reach.

I projected Eli Apple to go in the first round but I don’t think he was a top ten pick.  With Vernon Hargreaves III still on the board I question why the Giants took Apple over him.  I think Hargreaves is the better player between the two and the Giants made a mistake here.

However, as a Redskins fan I think it’s good for the Skins that the Giants reached.  Not that Apple can’t be good but at this time I’m glad the Giants took him and that Vernon Hargreaves III won’t be playing in the NFC East in the 2016 season.
