2016 NFL Draft
Oct 24, 2015; Louisville, KY, USA; Boston College Eagles quarterback Jeff Smith (5) scrambles away from Louisville Cardinals defensive end Sheldon Rankins (98) during the second half at Papa John /

18.  Sheldon Rankins, DT – Louisville: (6-2, 304) Projected Round – 2nd. Sheldon Rankins brings great athleticism for an interior defensive lineman.  He’s lightning quick off the ball and can penetrate into opposing backfields to create serious problems against the run or as a pass rusher.  Is a relentless pursuer of the football and makes a lot of plays from effort alone.    LW #

17.  Darron Lee, LB – Ohio State: (6-1, 232) Projected Round – Top 20.  Darron Lee is one of the most versatile linebackers in the draft.  He could play outside in a 4-3 defense or inside in a 3-4.  Lee has the kind of athleticism that is not only make him good against the run but also when dropping in coverage against the pass.  He’s the fastest linebacker in the draft and ran a 4.47 forty at the NFL Combine.  LW #

16.  Mackensie Alexander, CB – Clemson:  (5-10, 195) Projected Round – Top 25.  Mackensie Alexander is one of the top cornerback in the draft.  Many detractors harp on the fact that he had no interceptions in college.  But I’d be willing to bet he’ll get his fair share in the NFL.  Playing cornerback isn’t just about making interceptions it’s about using the proper technique in coverage and affecting a passing game.  Alexander can do that and he’s great defending the run as well.      LW #
