5. Wide Receiver

The Redskins have stated that they want starting why did receivers Pierre Garçon and DeSean Jackson both to come back next season. However, both combine to count approximately $20 million against the salary cap in 2016.

So either the Redskins will have to renegotiate one of their contracts or one of them will have to be released. Even if both of them return the Redskins will still need to add more youth at the position.  Both Jackson and Garçon are 29 years old and there contracts come back into question after this season.

The Redskins landed a very good rookie by way of last year’s draft in Jamison Crowder. But they could use a few more young receivers to go along with him.  The Redskins could also stand to add some size at the position.  As no one in the current top five receivers is over 6 foot tall.

Kirk Cousins could use a receiver with more length to go along with tight end Jordan Reed.  The middle rounds of the draft is probably where that will happen.
