Florida. Vernon Hargreaves III. 10. player. 31.
I’m a huge fan of this pick. Hargreaves may not be the best defensive back in this class in terms of athleticism, but he’s the best man-to-man cornerback. If he falls out of the Top 10, he’ll be an absolute steal. So congratulations to the Giants, who win the lottery in this mock draft.

There’s a significant chance that New York losses Prince Amukamara this offseason, which would be a huge blow to their defense. Jayron Hosley is also a pending free agent, and could look for a big payday elsewhere. That would leave the Giants with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and not much else out at cornerback. I don’t know about you, but that possibility doesn’t instill much confidence.

That’s why drafting a talent like Hargreaves at No. 10 makes way too much sense. He’s an outstanding coverage cornerback, and one who has the talent to start from Day 1 in the NFL. Even if the Giants lose Amukamara and Hosley this offseason, adding a truly elite prospect like Hargreaves to the mix would make it all better in the long run for the G-Men.
. Cornerback
