Three of the Redskins’ wide receivers (Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson, Andre Roberts) are considered potential cap casualties this offseason, which means Washington could be looking for starting-caliber talent when free agency kicks off. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many available options capable of filling the No. 1 role in D.C.

Jeffery, who is likely to re-sign with the Chicago Bears, is the only top-tier receiver scheduled for free agency. He’s an outstanding specimen, combining excellent size and amazing hands to dominant defensive backs. While it’s certainly interesting to imagine Kirk Cousins connecting with Jeffery next season, there’s zero chance that combo becomes a reality.

More than likely, the Bears make sure that Jeffery doesn’t even hit the open market. Whether they re-sign him to a major contract or slap him with the franchise tag, John Fox and Co. will make sure the sure-handed Jeffery stays in Chicago. It’s always great to fantasize about big signings, but the only way you’ll see Jeffery in a Redskins jersey is in Madden.
