Kevin Hogan, Stanford

Projection: 5th-6th

There’s a lot to love about Hogan and there are a few things worth worrying about. Although he took huge strides during his senior year at Stanford, NFL scouts will be concerned about his elongated delivery and inconsistent vision from the pocket. Still, there’s no denying that he’s an excellent athlete with the arm to make all of the throws and the leadership to take the reins of an NFL offense.

During the 2015 season, he compiled 2,867 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and only eight interceptions while completing 67.8 percent of his passes. He also added six touchdowns on the ground. Hogan led the 12-2 Cardinal to a Pac-12 Championship and a resounding Rose Bowl win over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

If the Redskins scooped him up, they’d have a smart, athletic quarterback behind Cousins who just needs a couple more years to develop. The physical tools and mental toughness are there, but he still needs to work on his decision making and propensity to throw into traffic before he’s prepared to take significant snaps for Washington. However, if he can improve on his pass selection as he transitions to the NFL, there’s no telling how successful he could be in the right offense.
