After beating the New York Giants 20-14, the Washington Redskins find themselves in control of their own destiny. With edges over the Giants in division and conference records, the onus is on the Redskins to hold serve and win on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys and Eagles are still in contention but face a difficult road ahead if they hope to over-take the Redskins or Giants.

Week 13

With a home game versus the Tony Romo-less Cowboys, the Redskins have an excellent chance to gain a game on the rest of the division. The Giants face the Jets in the championship of New York and the Eagles must travel to Foxboro to face the Patriots coming off of their first loss of the season. I see a Redskins victory and losses by the Giants and Eagles and the standings to look like this:

Washington   6-6

New York        5-7

Philadelphia   4-8

Dallas               3-9

Week 14

The Redskins travel to Chicago to play the Bears and a resurgent Jay Cutler. This is a very winnable game for the Redskins but with them playing on Monday night the previous week and playing in Chicago, I see a Bear victory. The Giants travel to Miami where I expect them to lose a close game while the Eagles finally get a win at home versus the Bills and the Cowboys fall further in the standings with a loss in Green Bay.

Washington     6-7

New York          5-8

Philadelphia     5-8

Dallas                 3-10

Week 15

The Redskins return home to play the Bills and I see them winning a close game to return to .500. The Giants play the Panthers in New York where Carolina should win. The Cowboys lose at home to the Jets and the Eagles fall to the Cardinals at home. The Redskins end the week with a two game lead in the NFC East.

Washington       7-7

New York           5-9

Philadelphia      5-9

Dallas                 3-11

Week 16

The Redskins get a chance to win the division in Philadelphia with a win and I think they finally get a road victory and beat the Eagles. The Giants travel to Minnesota where they lose as the Cowboys lose in Buffalo. With their division clinching win over the Eagles, the Redskins get a playoff game at Fedex stadium.

Washington      8-7

New York          5-10

Philadelphia     5-10

Dallas                3-12

Week 17

The Redskins rest many players in a somewhat meaningless game in Dallas but the Cowboys are playing for the first pick in the draft and the Redskins come out with a victory. The Giants beat the Eagles in what may be the final game for both head coaches, Tom Coughlin and Chip Kelly. The Redskins return home for their first playoff game in three years.

Washington      9-7

New York          6-10

Philadelphia     5-11

Dallas                3-13

The Playoffs

The Redskins host the Packers in week one of the playoffs. They beat Green Bay with a great defensive effort 23-20. The Seahawks win in Minnesota and get to face the Carolina Panthers. The Redskins travel west to face the Arizona Cardinals. The Redskins season ends in Arizona as the Cardinals defense stifles the Redskins offense, 35-10.

The season ends up being a big surprise to the Redskins and their fans. Most people did not expect the Redskins to get close to the playoffs. Although happy with their division championship, the Redskins will be rewarded by having to face both the Cardinals and Panthers in the 2016 regular season.
