Tracking stats:
yards per drive: 31.3
2014: 30.89 yards per drive
defensive yards per drive(given up): 34
2014: 31.74 defensive yards per drive(given up)
net yards per drive: -2.7
2014: -0.84 net yards per drive
offensive points per drive: 1.73
2014: 1.62 points per drive
defensive points per drive(given up): 2.08
2014: 2.18 defensive points per drive (given up)
net points per drive: -0.35
2014: -0.56 net points per drive
Net sacks: +5
2014: -22
Turnovers: -2
2014: -12
Net 3rd down %: +4%
2014: -11.5%
What do these stats mean?
Offensive yards per drive have rebounded, but defensive yards per drive(and points per drive) are way up as well.
For the first time in 2015, the defense is looking worse than the defense was in 2014. Notably, the net 3rd down percentage is also dropping like a stone.
The concern is that the result of the Tampa game is going to make people not look at the performance: namely that the team is getting worse across the board.
What is going well is the net sacks. They’re still in positive territory and the net turnovers haven’t collapsed which is probably keeping the team afloat.
