Trending Down: Ryan Grant, WR

Over his first season in 2014 Redskins wide receiver Ryan Grant didn’t play a whole lot but the potential that he showed in training camp and preseason made him one of the players that fans most wanted to see in real-time action.

His ability as a route runner has always been an impressive part of what he brought to the table but with DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Andre Roberts ahead of him on the depth chart, Grant never really got much of a shot.

However, with Jackson injured with a hamstring and having passed Roberts on the depth chart, Ryan Grant has gotten extended playing time this season.  But so far he has yet to consistently realize that potential that many believed he had.

In week five against the Atlanta Falcons, some pundits and fans felt that Grant was to blame for Kirk Cousins pick six in OT that cost the Redskins the win. I think the blame was more on Cousins but Grant did stumble on the play so that stands out in people’s minds.

Ryan Grant is still a young, developing receiver and his best might be ahead of him but the Redskins could really use a break out game from his soon and hopefully it will come against the Jets.
