4. Redskins QB’s vs. Texans pass rush
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was pressured heavily by the Houston Texans in their week 1 regular season matchup last year and by J.J. Watt in particular. Being under pressure most of the game, RGIII didn’t perform well so we’ll see how he practices against the Texans.
Reports suggest that RGIII has had some good moments in training camp this year and hopefully that will continue in these joint practices and scrimmages. Keep an an eye out for how Griffin goes through his progressions and finds open receivers.
Last season RGIII struggled in the pocket, so we need to see some growth there. Kirk Cousins needs to show that he can handle pressure too as last season he struggled with his composure in the pocket and this resulted in him throwing 9 interceptions in just six games.
Hopefully the Redskins offensive line will provide good protection so the quarterbacks can have time to get some good reps and work on fine tuning their games. But going up against J.J. Watt, Colt McCoy and the Redskins quarterback will face a huge challenge in practice.
