A lot has happened at the cornerback position for the Redskins early in training camp.  Head coach Jay Gruden named DeAngelo Hall a starter, Bashaud Breeland was suspended for one game and he suffered a bad knee injury that will keep him out for 6-8 weeks.

So with all of that the play in practice of veteran Justin Rogers is good news for the Redskins.  With Breeland going down depth could become an issue for the Redskins at corner and with David Amerson trying to bounce back from a poor 2014 season, there needs to be more options.

Justin Rogers has experience as a starter and if he continues to perform well, he could the one the Redskins turn to in the absence of Breeland, particularly as the slot corner.  With Hall and Chris Culliver starting on the outside, there is a need for someone to step up and cover the third receiver.

The Redskins may choose to sign another corner while Bashaud Breeland is out but until they do Justin Rogers will get more reps in practice and have a chance to showcase his talents and make an impression on DC Joe Barry and the Redskins secondary coach Perry Fewell.
