Robert Griffin III versus St. Louis Rams 2012-Second Quarter
On the first series of the second quarter, Griffin throws the obligatory wide receiver screen and runs the read option to Morris. Next he scans the field well and then dumps off to Josh Morgan on a crosser, who runs for the first down. Griffin then leads Leonard Hankerson perfectly who bobbles the ball but holds on for a 68 yard touchdown and a 21-6 lead for the Redskins.

Another wide receiver screen starts off the next series followed by a screen to the running back. Griffin then gets the first down on a quarterback draw. The drive ends on the next play when Griffin is hit as he throws leading to an interception for the Rams and a 21-16 halftime score.
Griffin scored 7 points on 6 pass plays for a 1.17 rating for the second quarter. He had 2 points on 1 run play for a 2.00 rating. The Redskins used play action on one of six pass plays and ran the read option on one of two run plays with the other being Griffin’s touchdown run.
