Every team in the NFL comprises a draft board of the top prospects available in their annual draft of college players. The draft boards will vary greatly depending on many factors. The teams each run differing offensive and defensive systems and seek a variety of different skill sets in their players.
A team that runs a 4-3 defense has no need to draft a NT unless that player can adapt to playing DT in a 4-3 system. A 3-4 team has no need to draft a pass rushing DE unless that player can play OLB in a 3-4 defense.
