5. Blocking Tight End
Redskins tight ends combined for 102 receptions in 2014, but the top two in Jordan Reed and Niles Paul while good receivers aren’t very good blockers. Even Logan Paulsen, who’s supposed to be the blocking tight end wasn’t as good as he’s been blocking.

Niles Paul has re-signed with the team, and while head coach Jay Gruden complimented him on his blocking skills, that wasn’t anything more than lip service. Because anyone with two eyes could regularly see Paul struggle mightily at times while blocking outside linebackers and defensive ends.
So either Paul and Reed will need to improve dramatically as blockers or the Redskins still need to find a tight end who can help them not only as a receiver, but as a blocker as well. The running game needs blocking from the tight ends too and not having that affected its performance. LW # 6
