2015 NFL Combine. Here is a Combine viewing guide that features safeties to keep an eye on who might end up as future Redskins.
2015 NFL Scouting Combine: 2/17/15 – 2/23/15 – NFL Network
Defensive backs – Work out on 2/23/15
1. Landon Collins, SS – Alabama – (6-0, 222) Projected Round – Top 15. Landon Collins is considered the top safety prospect in the draft. He’s known for his hard-hitting and is also a ball hawk. Collins can make something happen when he gets his hands on the ball. However, it’s unknown if he has the kind of range and speed necessary to be a difference maker in pass coverage in the NFL.
What to Watch for? 40-yard dash and shuttle time, 3-cone drill. Collins will need to show he has good speed in the 40-yard dash and the cone drill will show quickly he can change directions. If Landon Collins can put up a good 40 and cone time then he could elevate his status into the top ten of the NFL draft.
If the Redskins trade down in the first round, Collins will be one of the players they will focus on.
