Niles Paul, TE

Niles Paul is an unrestricted free agent and may not be with the team next season. Paul is an excellent special teams performer and will receive offers from other teams. The Redskins should give him a reasonable offer as they are very thin at TE.

Paul improved greatly as a receiver in 2014. He started in place of Reed when Reed left the win over the Jaguars early with an injury. Paul then caught 14 passes in weeks 2 and 3 combined.

Paul improved greatly as a receiver

Paul’s numbers went down when Reed returned as Reed became the top TE receiving target once more. Paul’s effectiveness as a run blocker was not good for the converted WR. This may keep Paul in Washington as other teams search for TEs that are more well rounded with the pass and run.
