Chris Chester needs to be replaced. I could go into a long diatribe on why but I will make it short. He was easily the worst player on the Redskins offensive line in 2014.

Chester either missed a block, allowed a sack or stood around and blocked no one on 22 out of 57 plays versus the Eagles. It is amazing that the Redskins were able to win the game with anyone playing that poorly. He stumbles and falls too often for a player that usually runs well.

2014 third round pick, Spencer Long, should be given the first shot at replacing Chester. Long played one play versus Philadelphia when Lichtensteiger was out for a play and Chester slid over to C. Long also came in for Tom Compton at LT versus the Cowboys. Compton had to switch from RT to LT when Williams was hurt in the fourth quarter.

Long had a 0.91 rating for the two games combined. Chester had a 0.35 rating against Philadelphia and a 0.57 versus Dallas. Why Chester wasn’t replaced at some point in the 2014 season is a mystery.
