3. Vic Fangio, defensive coordinator – San Francisco 49ers  –  Fangio is the defensive coordinator for the 49ers and their defense has been ranked in the top five of the league the past four seasons.  A very impressive stat.  Vic Fangio has extensive experience as coordinator in the NFL, having been defensive coordinator for the Panthers, Colts, and Texans in addition to the 49ers.

Fangio’s position as 49ers defensive coordinator may be up in the air as it’s expected that the team will part ways with head coach Jim Harbaugh at the end of the season.  Fangio may be a candidate to replace Harbaugh or possibly follow him to his next team.  But the Redskins definitely need to explore his availability after the season.
