Redskins vs. Browns: Five Keys to the Game
2. Contain Johnny Manziel:
Apparently Manziel won’t be starting but he will still play a lot. And he had a solid performance last week against the Detroit Lions. He will be looking to do the same against the Redskins as he’s trying to become the starting quarterback for the Browns. And I’m sure Kyle Shanahan will want his offense to perform well against the Redskins even in preseason.
The Redskins can’t afford to let Manziel get out of the pocket and create opportunities with some backyard football. They need to try to keep him in the pocket where the young quarterback may be more prone to make mistakes. The Redskins outside linebackers will need to stay at home and resist the urge to make the big play and miss in the open field.
Practicing against RGIII should give the Redskins defense and idea of how to attack a quarterback like Manziel. Redskins vs. Browns
