2. Mike Shanahan Fired – After compiling a 24-40 record as Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan was relieved of his duties. At times it appeared as though Shanahan wanted to be fired, but owner Daniel Snyder waited things out, and finally made the move after the Redskins finished the season with 7 straight losses.
