With how much roster turnover there was in the offseason, there are tons of former Washington Commanders players who are out there on other NFL rosters now.

As fans, it can be fun to see which former Commanders perform well, or poorly, from week to week. Since the offseason was full of departures, it's a testament to the job that general manager Adam Peters and the front office did.

Here are two ex-Commanders players who thrived and one who struggled in Week 10.

One former Commanders player struggled in Week 10

Kirk Cousins

It was not Kirk Cousins' day on Sunday, as he struggled against a New Orleans Saints defense that has allowed 24.6 points per game in 2024. This played a leading role in the Atlanta Falcons suffering defeat to their NFC South rivals.

Cousins finished the game with 23 completions from 38 attempts for 306 yards and one interception. No touchdowns on the day were made worse by Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo's erratic afternoon at the office.

Divisional games are extremely important. You can't afford to lose the easy ones. Cousins and the Falcons must bounce back quickly.

Chase Young

Chase Young has arguably his best game of 2024. It has been a rough career, especially the last couple of years, for the former No. 2 overall pick since winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020. However, the edge rusher did come up big for the New Orleans Saints in a tough divisional match-up against the Atlanta Falcons.

Young was to finish the game with four pressures, one sack, and two hurries on the quarterback. The Saints' defense was all over Cousins, leading them to a 20-17 victory over the Falcons.

Cody Barton

Cody Barton was not exactly a fan favorite during his time in Washington. With that being said, he has been a part of a Denver Broncos defense that has been one of the best defenses in the league this season, only allowing 17.7 points per game in 2024.

Barton finished the Week 10 match-up against the Kansas City Chiefs with nine total tackles, two defensive stops, and a quarterback pressure.

If not for a blocked field goal at the end, the Broncos would have beaten the Chiefs. Nonetheless, holding the two-time defending Super Bowl champions to just 16 points in a contest is a moral victory if nothing else.

Barton and the Broncos run defense was also able to hold Kareem Hunt to just 35 rushing yards on 14 carries.
