The Washington Commanders have only had two picks in the 2026 NFL Draft so far. Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles was the first at No. 7. It was a long wait for fans, but Clemson wide receiver Antonio Williams followed with the No. 71 overall selection.
They should help greatly. But with four picks on Day 3, this is where general manager Adam Peters can bolster the roster with some hidden gems who could potentially become something more.
Not everyone is going to become Jacory Croskey-Merritt or Jordan Magee — Day 3 selections who look capable of long careers in Washington. Finding the rough diamonds is difficult, but there is some freedom to be aggressive from Peters' perspective.
This is not about filling needs. It's about finding talent. The Commanders will have to trust their evaluations and their gut feelings on prospects of interest. But if Peters can find one or two who can make a difference, that would be an added bonus that typically separates the contenders from the also-rans.
With this in mind, here are 10 prospects still available on Day 3 who could be targeted by the Commanders at some stage.
Intriguing Day 3 draft prospects the Commanders could potentially steal
Commanders could target Jude Bowry
Offensive Tackle | Boston College Eagles
The Commanders have their bookend tackle tandem in five-time Pro Bowl blindside force Laremy Tunsil and Josh Conerly Jr., who made some exciting strides as his rookie campaign went on. This has the makings of a dominant tandem, but there isn't much behind them if injury strikes.
Andrew Wylie ot Trent Scott could fill the void. Foster Sarell was brought back, but he couldn't make the team last year. Going down the draft route with an intriguing project could be an option, and Jude Bowry represents a hidden gem who could be available in the fifth or sixth round.
Commanders could draft Ephesians Prysock
- Cornerback | Washington Huskies
The Commanders haven't drafted a cornerback as yet, which is somewhat surprising. Adam Peters is evidently comfortable with the options around, and there is always the remaining veteran pool to examine if he isn't quite satisfied. Even so, there is more than enough wiggle room to take one on board in Day 3, and Ephesians Prysock makes a ton of sense.
Prysock is an outlier. He's tall, long, and lean. He's a fluid mover for a man his size, and he can make plays on the football in contested catch situations. Adding some play strength and a little extra muscle mass will be crucial, but there are worse avenues the Commanders could go down in Round 5.
