Redskins trade for Hightower

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News | COMMENTS: None Yet

From the twitter account of ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Redskins have traded defensive end Vonnie Holiday for Arizona running back Tim Hightower. The trade will also include a later pick in an upcoming draft. Hightower looks to immediately compete for the starting job with current Skins running back Ryan Torain. Hightower is a native of the DC metro area and would be a significant upgrade in the backfield for the Skins, should he remain healthy.

Braylon Edwards to Redskins a smart move?

AUTHOR: | IN: Redskins | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The market for Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards has been “ice cold” according to Solomon Wilcots on NFL network earlier today. I, like many Redskins fans, have been wondering whether or not the Skins will go after the big target. Earlier this week Washington signed a number of receivers, both free agents and draft picks including Santana Moss, Donte Stallworth and Niles Paul. At 6’4″ the often-injured Malcolm Kelly is currently the tallest receiver on the team but could be on his way out if he so much as sneezes in training camp this year. Edwards is listed as 6’3″, [...]

Patriot Games: Albert Haynesworth not able to practice

AUTHOR: | IN: AFC East, Breaking News, Feature Commentary, In The News, Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet

We won’t spend too much time on this, because Haynesworth is no longer a part of the Redskins but word from New England is that Haynesworth was “unable” to practice today.  It was not confirmed the reason, but it is wildly speculated that he did not meet “conditioning requirements”.  Sound familiar? Until the Redskins and Patriots face each other later on this season, may this be the last post regarding him.  Unless of course he beings to screw the Pats and continues making headlines up there the way he did down here.

The fat lady has sung, Elvis has left the building and the circus has officially left Washington DC, en route to its next stop in New England.  By circus I mean Albert Haynesworth.  Good riddance.  I usually don’t like to make quick posts with the intention of sniping another NFL team, but now that Chad Ocho Cinco has joined “the circus” in New England, I couldn’t resist as the Patriots have all but ensured themselves a three-ringed headache.  As Redskins fans rejoice at the departure of Fat albert, Albert Haynesworth-less, or whatever pet name you chose to give him, Patriots [...]

Redskins start Spring cleaning in mid-Summer; Haynesworth gone

There is no better test of a man’s self-worth in the NFL than when he is put on the trading block.  It is apparent that Albert Haynesworth’s value is quite low, as all it took to dish him to the New England Patriots was a fifth round draft pick in 2013.  We all know that the Redskins has been wanting to rid themselves of this dead weight for quite some time, so it is not quite so shocking that they took a deal as such.  More revealing though is that all the Patriots offered was a late round pick, not [...]

Per ESNRadio.com Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second rounder.  This move could potentially make Larry Fitzgerald a top tier receiver once again and gives Philadelphia a very strong secondary. The question now is, who will back-up Vick? Favre? Vince Young? Credit: @incarceratedbob What does this mean for the NFC East landscape?

Redskins look to leave deal on the table with Jenkins

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Feature Commentary, In The News, NFC East | COMMENTS: None Yet

As reported on Epic Sports Network: As previously reported, we initially thought that the contract details to bring Cullen Jenkins to DC were nearly all set.  Now we are hearing from the same source that the guaranteed money was not agreed upon and the Redskins appear to be happy to drop talks. We are now hearing that, the Cowboys and Packers have taken the lead in landing him.  The Redskins recently signed Stephen Bowen, also to the defensive end spot.  They released Philip Daniels this morning.
