Cam Newton sacked by a team at combine

AUTHOR: | IN: Feature Commentary | COMMENTS: None Yet

Cam Newton looked to be transparent at this year’s draft.  He had hoped by participating in drills and throwing he would get a few softballs in return considering the amount of press he had received in recents days that could be considered unfavorable. A team backed Newton into a corner when asking him a question he was not prepared for. ESPN reports: According to the source, an NFL assistant coach questioned Newton about why he disobeyed his coach’s orders in the BCS National Championship Game. Thank you Clinton Portis

Re. Clinton Portis’s status for next year Shanahan said Portis’ contract number was too high, and he prefers to let a player like that test the market rather than offer him a pay reduction.   Shanahan was asked if he anticipated that happening with Portis. “If I said that, then usually . . . FS is a need for this team, Kareem Moore was a liability when he played last year and Chris Horton/Reed Doughty are both better suited to play strong safety.  We all saw what a beast Laron was when inserted into his natural SS position last year [...]
