Commanders can't let Julio Jones get on track

He snagged only one catch for a mere three yards during his Philadelphia Eagles debut in Week 7, but Julio Jones is still an able veteran who could burn the Washington Commanders. The 34-year-old is the kind of physical wide receiver able to bully a secondary pushed around too often this season.

Rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes was sent to the bench for not being able to stand firm in the fight. But the Commanders should have the covering defenders to handle Jones.

Cornerbacks Kendall Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste can both mix it with wide receivers on the perimeter. However, Jones might be down the list of priorities with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith also demanding significant attention.

If the Commanders commit numbers to tracking Brown and Smith, Jones is still good enough to routinely beat single coverage if he's not facing the right matchup. St-Juste is the ideal option to shadow Jones because he can counteract the decorated veteran's 6-foot-3 height.

Any game against this Eagles team is a grueling scrap. The Commanders will only emerge victorious if they are more physical than their visitors to FedEx Field.
