Commanders' improve red-zone offense

The Washington Commanders are in the top 10 league-wide after two weeks in total yards per game. They moved the ball effortlessly against the New York Giants, making numerous trips into the red zone.

That's when they stalled out. Unable to score a touchdown the entire game, the Commanders walked away with a win. But with it came a lot of reasons for doubt and uncertainty.

What the Commanders do have are three great runners. Brian Robinson Jr. has continued to flash the potential that Eric Bieniemy did not always let free. Austin Ekeler has continued to show the type of dynamism he's displayed frequently throughout his career. Jayden Daniels is currently averaging 66 rushing yards per game. These are numbers that will eventually make their way into the end zone.

Although good rushing teams typically learn how to find their way to scoring seven points instead of three, it's the passing threat that is going to avoid the Commanders' offense becoming too one-dimensional. Getting the aerial attack going is exactly why Kliff Kingsbury was brought in. To help Daniels maximize his potential and become the franchise quarterback Washington has long dreamed of.

With the Cincinnati Bengals sitting right in the middle of the pack in points allowed - despite what appears to be a solid pass defense - the Commanders will have another shot to get the passing on track and start putting touchdowns up.

Expect the Commanders to begin solving their offensive passing issues this week. Sam Cosmi mentioned how they are so very close to busting the offense open. One week it is going to happen.

What better time to show off what Daniels can do than in front of the entire country to let everyone know that the Commanders have their quarterback of the future?

It's only going to take a few dimes to unleash the dual threat of this offense. When that happens, the Commanders are going to begin to match their points total with the number of yards they have been gaining.
