The Washington Commanders have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL in 2024, soaring to a 7-2 record and sitting atop the NFC East. While there's still plenty of regular season action that needs to take place, Commanders fans are feeling more confident than they have in quite some time.

The cherry on top of this fairy tale season that's gone down so far for the Commanders is that while the good guys are flourishing, the Dallas Cowboys are struggling. At 3-5 and now Dak Prescott landing on IR, things are looking grim for the Cowboys in 2024 and that's music to Commanders fans' ears.

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons still believes in the Cowboys' playoff chances, however, stating that he still thinks his team is in the running. "I still believe we can make a run," he said.

Commanders fans will enjoy Micah Parsons' delusional comment about Cowboys

Now it's worth noting that 3-5 isn't a death sentence for a team by any means, especially this year where the league hasn't been filled with dominant teams. That being said, anyone who has watched the Cowboys this year knows how laughable Parsons' comment truly is. They've been atrocious and have dropped three straight games.

Next up for the Cowboys is NFC East rival Philadelphia, who are 6-2 on the year. Commanders fans will need to root for Dallas in that one but with Prescott now out and Cooper Rush in and the team already struggling, it doesn't feel as though Parsons' comments will come to fruition.

Considering how overcovered the Cowboys are every year, it's hard not to enjoy seeing them fail. Yes, there's time for them to bounce back and for things to potentially bottom out for the Commanders but this year truly feels different.

If the Commanders continue their winning ways and take the NFC East, it'd be their first division title since the 2020 season and their third division title over the last decade. If the Cowboys miss the playoffs, it'd be the first time they've done so since the 2020 season when they finished with a 6-10 record.

Maybe Commanders fans wouldn't be laughing at Parsons' comments if the Cowboys had been playing decently before Prescott's injury but that wasn't the case. This Cowboys team doesn't look formidable and for Commanders fans, that's such an enjoyable sight.
