Commanders could draft Tucker Kraft

  • Selection – Round No. 3 (Pick No. 97)
  • Height – 6-foot-5 | Weight – 254 pounds
  • 2022 statistics – 27 receptions 27 | 348 receiving yards | 3 touchdowns

Tucker Kraft was a dominant receiver in the FCS for three seasons. He showed off his great athleticism and receiving skills while putting on quite the show at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine to make NFL teams sit up and take notice.

The ability with Kraft is there. Although it’s very raw and unproven as he played in the FCS where competition is significantly weaker.

His late third-round/early fourth-round tag is warranted. Kraft’s athletic abilities have been showcased, but he will need to work on the technical side of his game while playing against the best in the world.

A potential third-round selection, Kraft would likely see limited snaps and have the potential to be a starter the following year. The Washington Commanders already have two tight ends capable of improvements in the form of Cole Turner and Armani Rogers, so whether taking on another development project enters their train of thought remains to be seen.

Kraft has some high athletic upside and could be productive if given time to hone his craft. But time is not on Ron Rivera’s side with significant pressure mounting once new ownership is confirmed.
