Restricted Free Agents

  • Jeremy Reaves, Safety/Special Teams
This is a “no-brainer”, but the Commanders could go one of two ways. All-Pro special teamer Jeremy Reaves could sign the one-year tender and that would guarantee another year with Washington. Also, the front office could sign Reaves to a multi-year deal. The latter is preferable and he wouldn’t cost too much against the salary cap.
  • Khaleke Hudson, Linebacker/Special Teams
Khaleke Hudson’s value comes primarily from special teams, but he had a sensational game at linebacker against the Cowboys in the season finale. It would be a good idea to put an original round tender on Hudson. If a team decides to offer Hudson a contract, the Commanders can match that offer or let him walk and receive a fifth-round selection from his new team.

Exclusive Rights Free Agents

  • Milo Eifler, Linebacker/Special Teams
Milo Eifler was beginning to have a good impact in the preseason, but an injury affected him for most of the regular season. He deserves a chance to prove his worth and demonstrate his capabilities during this upcoming offseason.
  • Rachad Wildgoose, Cornerback/Special Teams
Wildgoose was claimed off of waivers shortly before the opening game of the season. He had some decent moments early in the season at cornerback and was a regular on special teams throughout the season. The level of play from Wildgoose is more than what is needed to keep him in town. He has the potential to be a rotational player on defense and a regular contributor on special teams.
  • Eli Wolf, Tight End
Former street free agent tight end Eli Wolf signed with the Commanders during the 2022 offseason and it seems as if he was on the practice squad’s injured reserve list for the entire season. It is unknown if Wolf will be tendered or allowed to try to sign with a fourth team in his fourth season.

There are the twenty current pending free agents for the Commanders. Free agency arrives in the middle of March and we will know by then who will be re-signed and tendered.

As you can see, yours truly believes that twelve of them should be re-signed or tendered. What does your list look like? We have a lot more coming to you as the offseason continues. See you as we go along.
