The Good: Defense Kept Commanders in the Game in the First Half

Arguably, there was not much that went well for the Commanders in the game, so coming up with positives was a stretch. The biggest victory, if you could call it that, was introducing Major Tuddy.

3: Despite three interceptions from Wentz, the Commanders defense limited the damage by only allowing three points off turnovers in the game. On the three drives after Washington turnovers, the Browns only ran 11 plays for 18 total yards.

100%: Finishing drives in the red zone was one of the reasons that Washington switched from Heinicke to Wentz. The Commanders scored touchdowns on 100% of their trips to the red zone. The problem, the team only got into the red zone once in the game.

21: The Commanders took 11:27 of game-time off the clock during their 21-play 96-yard touchdown drive, capped off by Wentz’s quarterback sneak on 4th-and-goal. The 21-play drive tied for the longest drive of the season and was only the fifth time in the last 10 seasons that a drive has lasted that many plays. Wentz finished the drive 4-for-4 for 49 yards, including a big 3rd-and-17 conversion.
